Actually the weight of all luggage has to be calculated as it affects the amount of fuel to be loaded. I can see airlines charging more for fat people to travel if oil prices go up. It will become a bit like the postal service, cost is based on size and weight. I am sure the check-in staff are trained to spread the weight around when fat people check in.

it is type of pointless to talk something that should have no useful way of being enforced. that's already a real nightmare attempting to envision in and board a plane swiftly jointly as people clog up traces and aisles... attempting to envision in without identity, or attempting to hold the relatives settee onboard and cram it in to the overhead containers or get a field of rapidly-razors by way of secure practices. it would be extremely impossible if each and every passenger had to be weighed and tallied with their luggage and assessed costs for going over their allocation. And interior the U. S., what's wrecking gasoline intake isn't the only or 2 very obese those that must be on that flight. it is the certainty that the regular American weighs 10 or 15 kilos greater suitable than merely some years in the past. what's using greater gasoline, one individual who's bringing one greater one hundred kilos with them, or 200 people each and each with their greater 15 kilos?

Hey! That is such a good idea. You could say every seat is allowed x number of pounds- including yourself and your luggage. However, the number of articles of clothing that a heavier person can bring would get exponentially smaller since their clothes are bigger and therefore heavier. A baby could bring their entire wardrobe since they are tiny and their clothes are tiny and light. Of course the baby and the fatty could trade luggage and everyone could be happy.
To answer your question- they don't do that because that would make the fat people angry and then that particular airline wouldn't have any fat customers and since we live in America and lots of people are fat then they would have very few customers and they would go out of business.

It is not so much the luggage space but the amount of room they take up inside the cabin. They can make life very incomfortable for the person/s sitting next to them. The Airlines need to find a solution acceptable to everyone.

You some of these people haven't a clue that our beloved Federal Govt has helped make the "epidemic of obesity" more of a reality with the allowance of hormones in our food. As a doctor once told me..."IF you want to fatten up a cow, what do you do?" Answer "give it hormones." That is basically what has happened to most of the American public. The food in Europe doesn't have the preservatives and hormones in it like we do here. So sad.

Because we live in a country that is afraid to offend anyone. We bit our tongues for so long, coddling the obese, that now we have a serious problem.
If we would have made it known that it was not socially responsible to be a disgusting fat slob sooner, maybe we wouldn't have an epidemic of obesity on our hands.

It might seem like a good idea, but in fact in would be in breach of
human rights. Your assuming no doubt that people should be penalised for being fat and that it is their own fault.
Which it were that simple. A great many people are overweight due to many varied reasons. And whilst those who are obese due to overeating you cannot impose restrictions because of this.
Good idea but impossible to implement.

It's because people are afraid to offend fat people. No one hesitates to say anything to thin people, though.
More often than not being fat IS a choice. Weight loss is easy, it just requires discipline.

Because this is America and it's against the law to discriminate against people because of their weight.
Now if they are too large to fit in the seat, they do have to buy two tickets and at that point, I would guess they would be allowed to bring on twice as much baggage.
Just be happy you are not in their shoes-I know I am.

Depending on how fat the person is, they may even charge two tickets, for two seats, to aggravate the hunilliation. Just let them be... Cargo is cargo, and humans are humans
