I'd like to know what you consider when you select a novel to read.....I'm sure that not all of them are the same despite what people decide to call them....

Romance is based on all the happily ever after stories. Poor girl, rich guy or vice versa, meet fall in love, have sex,they tell you how he held her. For example, he took his huge muscular arms and placed it on her wet lips and told her 'shush' as he made his man hood known to her. As he became familiar with her, their movements became synchronized and there was nothing she could do but hold on to his moist shoulders and squeeze for dear life. OMG i could be a writer, anyway. they hide cause its forbidden yadda yadda yadda.
Smut will have the same story line but this is what the sex scene will be like. He took his manly arms and placed it into the moist area between her thighs lol. He kissed her hard and then he forced his man hood into her ever waiting woman's. Ohhhh baby. lol. He has to cover her mouth with his hands to prevent mourns of ecstasy from escaping her luscious lips since his mouth was already preoccupied with the mounds of sugar on her breast that he playfully called cha chas. lol. You get the drift.
That is my idea.

That would be why I call it 'Book Porn'. Of course it's not exactly the same; books aren't as graphic, the stories are more gentle and romantic, most of the time they revolve around a plot, etc. Guys don't care if porn has a story or plot behind it, and they don't watch it to see people 'making love' they want to see some hardcore sex. But in general, yes, they are both forms of erotic entertainment.

a romance novel is more about how the two lovers became lovers while a smut book is more about the sex they had rather than how they got to be lovers.

A romance novel has more of a plot and they use more creative words to describe sex and body parts.
