First of all, what are the criteria for a meaningful life, and who decides whether or not a life is meaningful? This kind of reasoning has already gone so far that some courts have convicted parents for giving birth to children that they knew ahead of time, from prenatal tests, would be deformed!

It should be kept in mind that this same logic leads to the murdering of larger deformed human beings who live elsewhere (that is, outside the womb.) The logic of abortionists leads inevitably to infanticide and euthanasia. Even some pro-abortionists (Joseph Felcher, for example) admit that the two issues are logically tied together. In fact, there would be greater logical justification for taking the life of someone already known to be deformed than one which prenatal tests have simply indicated might be.

Oh, please state your source. I'd love to hear the details of a case where parents were convicted (of what, you don't say) for having a deformed baby.

No one has a right to a "meaningful life." Life is what you make it. The only promises you have is that if someone does something to you (rape, theft, murder, etc.), they may be punished by the law.

Ok first I never heard of parents being convicted of giving birth to deformed children. Second yes every child has the right to be born and thus have life. It is God who gave everyone of us life and God alone has the right to take a life away not humans. Every child whether deformed or not has the potential to be something great no matter if it is deformed or not. No one has the right except God to decide whether a life is meaningful or not.

I think your in the wrong forum. But i think that if a child has a disability or is deformed that child could live a meaningful life. I personally have seen children that are severely disabled and seem to be at peace in the world with the few people that take care of them.

Why do you keep posting this BS and nonsensical rhetoric.First its in the wrong category and your not telling the truth. You are twisting facts with lies and misleading statements.I think you need mental health help and soon .Your opinions are of no importance until you get pregnant and carry a child. You are male and so never will so why don't you take your meds and sleep it off.I for one think you re very offensive in your question.
I am sure someone has reported you already for this barrage of anti female rights rhetoric.

The two parents should have responsibility for their child, society should offer support with science and expertise where relevant, but great latitude on decisions should be allowed to parents with regard to their own offspring, no one else has as much at stake in them as they do.

I agree. Every child has POTENTIAL and the unwavering right to a LIFE. Im not sure if meaningful qualifies, that would depend on the child as an individual and whether he or she desires such a thing.

Every child has a right to life. Giving their life meaning is their own task, and it is determined in their own mind, not in another's.

Life must be revered, not discarded so callously.
