Edinburgh is fast becoming the most popular destination for American immigrants and tourists in Scotland. Rightly so, as it has the best of everything that Scotland has to offer: the best historic sites, the best archeticture, the best university in Scotland (university of Edinburgh), etc.
It is also host to the most glamorous Scottish annual event: the Edinburgh Tatoo. I am sure you would be happy in the city, even though the winters can be wet and cold, but summer is nice. It is a small city, but a city with deep culture and heritage, and most of all: a global ambition.

FROM the USA TO Scotland ? ? ? ? ? are you mad? that's out of the frying pan into the fire type of scenario, (although not so warm as the fire) my advice, if your gonna do it.... is very slowly... maybe take about another 40 years to do it.... you might even die happy in the US then
