put out flyers. One time my cat left home and it didn't return for like weeks. I put out flyers and some lady came to my door with my cat and said that she thought is was a stray and brought it home with her. Then another time I let my cat out and it was gone for like 3 days i couldnt find it I put out flyers again and some guy came to my door and said that the cat was in his garage. it must of went in there when he was working on his car and he just now opened the garage back up and found it! Also call all the shelters. Animal control might of picked it up! That happend to my cat too! I hope you find it. I know how much stress it puts on you when you cant find the cat you love! Don't listen to the guy above that said it was squashed in the road. Cats are smart that probably isnt what happened. Hope you find it!

My father always tells us about when he was a boy they had a cat who disappeared one day. A year later he came home from school & it was sat on the doorstep. They took it in & fed it & it was like nothing had happened. The next day it disappeared & they never saw it again. My Dad always says it came back to make sure it was having it better where he was
Unfortunately a cat will try to go away to die - they can be ill & you may not know. However if your cat never went far, the first thing I'd be doing is checking your neighbours garages & sheds & making sure no-one else was feeding them. It's the time of year when people are locking things up & putting things away & I doubt bonfire night helped either. I really hope you find him x

My cat is missing she is a tabby cat and is quite skinny and has been gone for 3 days now which is unlike her. She is not really a people cat and is quite timid but she has never just disappeared like this. She went out at about 9pm three days ago and hasn t been seen since. She isn t a big eater but wasn t eating much or any of her food before going missing. We have another cat who is her son and he is ill at the moment not been eating properly which is not like him at all as he loves his food. He was sick this morning and has been hiding under my sons bed. I am going to take him to the vets today and get him checked. Really worried about both of them. Does anyone have any good ideas? please help? Joe

Three weeks. Came back very emaciated but otherwise OK after being shut in someone's shed or garage. Very lucky to be alive. If I were you I'd make up little flyers and stick them through every letterbox within a set radius of your house. Ask that the householder check their shed and garage. Chances are your cat has wandered in somewhere and become shut in. Don't give up hope, but I do appreciate how horrible it is for you. Good luck.

My cat was gone for 3 days. I called the Animal Shelter, the vets in the area, the animal hospital, etc. As I was talking on the phone with one of the vets, my cat came waltzing in and I was kind of embarrassed! But I know he was always home every day and 3 days was very much unlike him.

Many years ago we went on holiday at the beginning of the School Summer Holiday. The neighbours were to feed our cats in our shed. Our neighbour's cats ate all the food and when we came home a week later our cats had disappeared.
Understanding that the big tom from next door had scared ours away but still fearing the worst I went out everyday round the neighbouring farms etc and called their names. I spent the whole summer holiday doing this; I must have walked a fair few miles each day.
About 3weeks after they disappeared Kitty, my sister's female cat, returned. She just appeared by the Kitchen window while I was washing up one day. She never had so much fuss, attention or food. She was very thin but quite healthy and pleased to be home.
I had to wait another 3months for Smokey-Jo to return. I had given up hope of seeing him again as he was very friendly and drop deap gorgeous - I thought he had found a new home.
I still went out periodically to search & call but my mum decided getting me a new kitten would get me out of the doldrums.
So new kitten (Mac) moved in. I still missed Smokey-Jo and still went for my long walks just in case. I had the shock of my life when a very thin, bedraggled but still loving and gorgeous Smokey wandered into the house one day.
Luckily enough he and Mac got on like a house on fire and my Mum just had to cope with my two little tykes after that!! Poor old Kitty didn't know what had hit her having two (neutered) males in the house!
We never did find out where they had been. I think Kitty may have heard me calling her and realised where warmth, food and love were.
Smokey-Jo must have been farther away but maybe he heard me when I went for one of my very long (5-6mile) walks. He slept for about 8hours once he had been fed and cuddled; he was totally knackered!
All this happened nearly 20years ago so all my darlings have now moved on and I have new friends to share my life with but I still miss Smokey-Jo.
