Our daughter has two middle names, both family names (one is my Grandmother's middle name and the other is a name from my husband's family). Her first name could be called unique, but not in the "uneeq" way that some names are. It's the name of something that we hold near and dear. If we are blessed with another daughter, her name will be along the same vein as the daughter we have now.
Now, sons, on the other hand... we haven't been blessed yet, but when we do they will be named for family. The first would be named for my husband who is named for his father so the boy would be a "III", as my husband is a Jr. The second would be named for my husband's Grandfather, a man who was (and still is) incredibly special to him.

My first son is a Jr., but now I go for more unique names or names that no one use anymore. Like I have an Amos. No one use that name anymore. And I also have a Destin. I made that one up 10 yrs ago when it was nowhere to be heard of.

There are so many names in the world. We don't like to reuse names that have been selected within a family; unless we really like it. We feel that Jr. and II is too complicated. My boss' name is Don. Jr; therefore, his father is Don Sr. Don Jr's father-in-law is also a Don. We have a lot of customers by the name of Don. Everytime I take a message, I have to make sure which Don it's for and which Don is calling.

I haven't picked out names yet, but my boyfriend is a Jr And does NOT want to continue on with the name, which I am thrilled about because he has a very old southern name!

We did not go for Jr's we went for unique names that you won't hear out there, at least at the time when we had our children.

I prefer not to use any names in the family. I might agree pn giving a son his father's name as a middle name, but would rather not since he would already have the father's last name.

my son is a Jr. its not what we originally had planned but when he came out he looked exactly like his daddy so we knew it was a good idea. if i ever have a girl and she looks like me, i thought it'd be funny and cute to name her Ashley Jr, so we have two mini mes running around with our names.

My son's name is Guillermo III, William in english. That name runs in my husbands family. At first I was hesitant about it, but my husband and I couldn't decide on anything else. His nickname is Boo-boo, so it's only at school where they use his real name.

My husband is a III and when our son was born, much to his fathers disappointment, he decided to NOT name our son a IV. He felt like 3 was plenty.

My husband is the Third. I asked him each time (we have 3 boys) if he wanted a fourth and each time was NO.
