One could talk for days, months, and even years on this subject. The simple answer is time, but their is so much more to it.
Love sacrifices, Lust doesn't, Love makes it through the rough times, lust doesn't. True love is built up through time, Lust happens in a moment. Lust is that feeling that nothing could ever go wrong as long as everything is going right, Love is knowing that even when things go wrong he/she will still be there tomorrow.
I think most people mistake the two for two reasons. The first reason is that the word love is thrown around carelessly, and most people don't know what it means. The second reasons is that people often want lust to be love. They have this idea that their lust will magically change into love because they want it to, but they are not willing to work and make an effort toward loving. It's one thing to say you love someone it is a completely other thing to actually do it. If you really want to know about true love look in the Bible.

Yes it is a hrad distintion. Lust is physical with really no desire to live the rest of your life with the other person. You find yourself attracted to others with no guilt. Love is hard to answer because it is it different for everyone. I guess you could discribe it as an enternal feeling of being connected. Yes there is a physical attraction, but also a longing for that person to be around all the time. To want to further a more deeper relationship. Trust me, you will know it, especially when you are away from that person for a period of time.

Hello
OK honey it is really easy to get confused when your think about where you love someone or do you just lust after them.
Lust is something that is easy to feel for someone. If you think a guy is hot then your going to feel something for that person.
Loving someone how ever is a different story. When you love someone you should be attacked to them. But loves goes further than that.,
Loving someone is when you can't see your life with out that person. Because that person is all that you can think of and all that you want your life to be.
Being in love with someone is when you plan your life with that person. Truly loving someone is when you want to grow old and spend the rest of your life with that person.
Because you aren't going to stay young and beautiful for ever after looks are gone all you have is love.
Best of luck

love and lust are completely different aspects.love is a emotional bonding between two persons, but lust is just the opposite, the physical attraction and excitement for a person.u said u feel hot and u think u love him so this is surely not love because if u were in love u would know,it is a kind of attraction,a kind of lust.

When you're lusting after someone, your primary concern is your happiness. When you love someone your primary concern is THEIR happiness.
Love is unconditional. If you love someone you're willing to put your happiness on the back burner for a minute while you tend to your loved one to make sure that they are happy and content. Love makes sacrifices & doenst keep score. Lust is selfish and looks for something in return.
Think about these things. If you can relate to anything I just said, then you love this dude. if not, then it's just lust.

Love lasts longer then lust does. Lust is in the heat of the moment and love is something that builds and builds and builds.

If its love you will know. You will get those little butterflies in your stomach. You will thinking of the person all the time. Lust is just for the moment, Love withstands time.
