If you are serious and are afraid you will do something impulsive or life threatening you need to see a dr asap. I am 37 and have hated life for the past 2 years. I have been hospitalized 2 times for suicide watch and depression. life doesn't always turn out the way we envisioned it when we were 20 yrs old and that can be hard to take. the pressures of having 4 kids, a husband and a full time job(which i no longer have) took their toll on me. Slowly with medication and lots of counseling i am improving my attitude. If you think you just have the mid-life blues do what the others have suggested: take a trip, do something new, ect. If it's more see a doc.

Peace and hope

mid-life crisis

go out - join the Y and a gym and a few other groups and get more active than you've been in years. Meet people, go places. Be friendly and natural. Get involved, volunteer.

It all will help you through this phase when everything seems bleak and makes you wonder if life is worth living. Surprising how getting in shape and doing lots and lots of activities will drag you up out of the dumps, make you feel good about yourself and life and put you back on a new exciting track.

Yep, it is hard to get off your butt and do it, but you have to for your own sake. Unless of course you just want to lie there and wait to die. but believe me at 41 you are going to have to wait quite a while so no sense being bored, might as well move!

41 and hating life. Oh my, those two things shouldn't go together! What are you hating about life? Is it fear of getting older? Getting older is cool. I've found as I've matured that I am more confident and more engaged in life now and much wiser than I was 20 years ago. I'm a grown a** woman now and I revel in that. I'm not the fashion-clueless geek I was years ago, I actually know how to dress now, how to put on my makeup, I exercise regularly, I went back to school and I have a younger man. You're in the prime of your life, honey. If you're depressed seek professional help for that right away. You should not be sad now. Now is the time to work it and keep working it until you caint work it no more. Good luck.

Hi, well done for asking for help that is a good sign that you want things to change for the better. I think that it would be a good idea to be able to speak to somebody about this such as a close friend or your GP. In the meantime, you could try distracting yourself with a hobby or a soothing technique such as a relaxing bath and a good book. Treat yourself to a bit of a pamper, even if you think that you can't be bothered, just spending five minutes on yourself should help you to feel a little bit better about things.
Please do speak to somebody though and with their help you can start to work through this and realise that there is a brighter future for you.

hi there,

how about thinking about every aspect of your life, decide what you dont like about it and change it, be your own life couch

such as your home life, are you happy with your partner ? if your not why not make some more time for each other ?or single and happy about it ?

and your work life dead end job ? why not train and do something else ? or do you work too hard and want to change it ?

are you happy with the way you look ? maybe you could join a gym, or try some new styles

decide what you like and dont like and start making some changes even if there small changes at first

So the internet says you're 41 aye? Well I bet you have seen a lot of things in your time. Say, you want to die or are you just playing around on this website. "hating life" is such a bad thought. If you tell people you problems you might start liking life for a change. Well who is life? is he/she sexy. Do you hate life because you can't get any? please just kill yourself if you hate life so badly. i actually enjoy life but you seem to have a problem with it. I guess I better let you go, but seriously if you hate life and don't want to commit suicide, please see a doctor (young female perferably).

WHY are you hating life?? Are you bored, lonely? Make whatever changes to need to enjoy life again. Start with one small step. What small thing would you like to change that would make your life better?

Think about how you can alter this, you DO have the power. Then go on from there.
