It has been my experience that most people are asking questions to try and prove a point, very few are ernestly looking for an answer or at least an answer that informs them. Now I am not accusing anyone of a bad thing, I just what to know if you feel like you need to prove a point or if you generally don't know something and want an answer?

Personally I think most of my questions on here have been me looking for answers, but I do admit to making a few points here and there.

Mostly I like looking for answers. My questions seem to get over-analyzed and read into and I'm accused of making a point, being a believer or non-believer of various religions...and sometimes I get an answer.

I'm here because I think a person's beliefs are the most interesting thing about them.

Those who are trying to make a point instead of asking a question may not be earnestly seeking an answer, they may however be earnestly seeking approval or agreement of their opinions. A lot of people out there just want someone to hear them out, regardless of whether it is a question or to prove a "point".
