WalMart has a great chew toy. It's shaped like a firehydrant make of thick rubber, and it has a hole in the bottom of it to put milk bones in it (get the large dog bones). I had to spread a bit of peanutbutter inside the edge of it to get my dog interested in it, but he loves it. They have to work to get the bone out of it. They get the satisfaction of chewing and a treat.
My dog is a 3 yr old male doberman, and he's had it since we got him at 8 1/2 wks. Hasn't destroyed it yet!
Just as tough as a Kong and less expensive!

DON'T give her nylabones or rawhides. They tend to plug up the intestines. I don't know why they're still sold - it even tells you on the package that if you notice pieces missing, take the chewie away and give them a new one.
My dog has the large size teeth cleaning biscuits, dry dog food that I mix a bit of well cooked hamburger with for taste and he has a special toy on a rope that not only satisfies his urge to chew, but helps clean his teeth. I don't have the package, but it is shaped like a rugby ball and has openings with tiny teeth all the way along. He is a 33lb. Border Collie - and he hasn't even made a dint in the toy. And he has some awesome FANGS!

The Kong is the best for a dog that tears things up easily, i had an american bulldog that tore everything up, for his kong I filled it up with plain yoguart and froze it in the freezer he loved that or you could also put in cheese or kibble, chopped apple, grated carrot, etc. I "seal" the ends with a dab of peanut butter and then pop them in the freezer. You can even put broth inside. Plug the small hole (I use a carrot) and fill with broth. Freeze big hole side up (stick on a paper towel or washcloth in case the hole leaks). Anything could be put in a Kong and it keeps your dog busy for awhile especially when you freeze it.
go to this website: www.kongcompany.com then click on tips and advice, then click on KONG recipes. They have some things you could put in your Kong For your dog.
Orbee ball is a pretty tough toy.
Raw bones are a good treat. Either the recreational marrow bone, or the edible bones
Whole baby carrots are good too

theres plenty of dog bones and chew toys at the store, but be careful because your dog might be allergic to some kinds.

my beagle used to tear things up - I gave him empty plastic milk containers - the gallon one's - or empty plastic water bottles - will keep him occupied and his mind off of other things.
