OK first of all the blonde was mesmerized because she saw on her left shoulder a figure which represented the devil and on her right the angel. This struck her as being amazing because she had only seen such things in cartoons. But it was unusual to for her to see this because the devil was telling her to breathe in and the angel was telling her to breathe out. When she came to the realization that there were no figures on her shoulders she died from lack of oxygen to the brain. And as to the other question why would a vicar want to eat cake it has the possibility of holding something sharp and dangerous in it. A vicar would not want to experience this. In the Roman Catholic version they would possibly loose their spot as being that high in the church's eye. Hope this was helpful.
