Boring no way. I love it. I love getting everything ready and sighted in. I love sitting in the stand waiting patiently, it is so peaceful. The hunt is the main part of hunting not just the kill. I get just as excited with a spike as I do a "big pointer". They all put meat in the cooler. When your telling your story the main part is the hunt the kill is at the end.

there were several good points made, it is a great time to get away from everything that "clutters" up our lives, to spend some quality time with friends & family in a very peaceful setting. but let us not forget that we are not bird watching we are HUNTING and the only thing better than standing over a good pointer and having a big old rooster flush at your feet is making the shot! or sitting in a tree stand at first light and hearing that unmistakable sound of a deer comming down the trail towards you and knowing that all the hours you spent sticking arrows into a target are about to pay off. so do i enjoy the "thrill of the kill"? YOU BET I DO! and anyone who doesn't should stick to watching birds through binoculars!

Then you are hunting for the wrong reason.

If that is how you feel, then you should not be hunting.

You're looking at the kill in hunting, instead of the thrill of hunting.

Being out in nature, seeing things that you would never see otherwise.

My son and I was talking (on a hunting trip) about his teachers' hike with his son.

The teacher was excited about seeing a rabbit on that hike.

My son and I while hunting that day, had seen 20 deer, numerous rabbits, a coatimonde, javalina, and several hawks. Something we would not have seen 'hiking'.

If you are into the kill, then you should not hunt.

boaring there is no way hunting can be boaring, yah it gets really exiting when you shot a big pointer but hey you have a time to get away from every thing, like friends, family. But the thrill of those antlers in the air is the best feeling you'll ever get.

its not the kill its the getting out there in the woods and if you kill something thats a plus you can see things in the woods that you can't see anywhere else i'm a bow hunter and they have to get really close and if they dont get close to me i dont get one..... But i can still see them my heart pounds just like they are standing right under me.Thats why you have to know the habbits and travel routes .... Do your homework and it wont be boring

I can sit in the woods all day and see nothing. This still brings me great pleasure, just spending time with nature. It isn't about the kill or the trophy.
