Yeah that's cradle cap Hun, my daughter has the same thing. what i use is olive oil my doc recommended it, you put a little bit on her head where you can see the flakes are coming from and let it sit wile she plays in the bath for a little wile, after use a comb or baby brush to loosen it up. when you are done that rince, and shampoo as usual to get the oil off. do this every second bath until it has all been comb/brushed off. as for conditioning go ahead as soon as the cradle cap is gone. it will make her hair nice and soft.

She may be experiencing Cradle Cap. I would go back to the baby shampoo like you did as the surfactants are very gentle. Make sure you rinse thoroughly! A bit of conditioner is OK as long as you rinse, rinse, rinse.
Try only shampooing her hair every other day, this is what I had to do with my daughter to keep her scalp healthy.
As for the cradle cap she has now.....rub a bit of baby oil on the affected areas and then brush gently with a very soft tooth brush.
DO NOT EVER USE DANDRUFF SHAMPOO ON A BABY!!!!!! Or any adult for that matter.........it contains a product called Pyritione Zinc which is RAT POISON!!! It literally tears the top three layers of the epidermis completely off the scalp! That's why there's no more flakes....cuz there's NO MORE SKIN. Don't believe me? Check the labels of Head and Shoulders or Selsun Blue and compare to some good ole' rat poison. Remember...everything you put on your skin is absorbed into your system. Think Nicotine patch or birth control patch...etc.

What is cradle cap?
Cradle cap is an oily, yellow scaling or crusting on a baby's scalp. It is common in babies and is easily treated. Cradle cap is not a part of any illness and does not imply that a baby is not being well cared for.
What causes cradle cap?
Cradle cap is the normal buildup of sticky skin oils, scales, and sloughed skin cells.
How is it treated?
Home treatment is usually all that is needed for cradle cap.
*An hour before shampooing, rub your baby's scalp with baby oil, mineral oil, or petroleum jelly to help lift the crusts and loosen scales.
*When ready to shampoo, first get the scalp wet, then gently scrub the scalp with a soft-bristle brush (a soft toothbrush works well) for a few minutes to remove the scales. You can also try gently removing the scales with a fine-tooth comb.
*Then wash the scalp with baby shampoo, rinse well, and gently towel dry.

How old is your daughter? I've had dry scalp since I was a kid. My mom called it "cradle cap". I use a heavy conditioner on my hair and massage it into my scalp. Also, about once a month, I massage in baby oil to moisturize the skin. It helps. But it is not dandruff.

Yes, the other stuff may have just dried her scalp out. Something in it is too strong for your daughter's hair. I would just stay with the good ole stuff. I probably would not use conditioner on her hair yet, unless she has thick naturally curly hair and a little (very little) would help tame it down some.

Dilute some Head & Shoulders and massage it into her hair once daily rinsing well. Then, while her hair is still wet comb it with a fine tooth comb.Apply some emu (yes I did say emu) oil to the scalp once a week (a little goes a long way). Trust me,it works like magic!

It would be fine to use conditioner. Also you could try putting a little bit of baby oil on her head just before washing it. Comb it through and it will loosen the flakes.

My daughter had the same problem when she was a baby.
I used a tiny bit of Mineral Oil and combed it through her hair and washed it out thoroughly. Do not use Johnson's baby shampoo on her hair because it is very drying.
I used Aveno baby wash and it is safe to use on hair too.
Talk to your doctor if it gets worse.

If it is yellow flakes I would make sure it is not cradle cap. Even older children can get it. I would get with my doctor if changing back to the first shampoo does not change this.
