I don't think so. I have a HD 23 Inch Widescreen and I don't see any difference in my bill. Now if you're talking a 50 inch or more, I can't tell you. Of course, if you can afford a 50 inch HDTV, why would you worry about the electric bill?

If your concern on how much electricity will be consumed, then stick with an LCD HDTV. They consume way less energy then Plasmas and DLP(type of projection tv) as well. Plasma's use the most.

As compared to a CRT? Maybe a little more.

But you can add a lamp in your living room

and have more of an impact on your light

bill if you used it as much as your TV.

im going to say yes because they do more things so that takes up more power it should only raise your bill by a few dollars it all depends on how long you watch tv or leave it on
