I asked this question before but I didn't get the answer I wanted. I have a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. I want to know how I can use these chocolate chips to make hot chocolate with these chips. Please do not include any other forms of chocolate other than semisweet chocolate chips in your recipes, thank you

Put the chips in a bowl or cup and add some water. Microwave until melted. Pour milk into another cup and add some of the chocolate and add a little sugar to sweeten. Put int microwave to heat and serve hot to taste.

You had me curious if that actually could be done because chocolate chips contain less cocoa butter so that they can better hold their shape in cookies, but this makes them harder to melt and less tasty.

Have a try at this tasty recipe:

This hot chocolate recipe calls for two different kinds of chocolate, and it's whipped frothy.
INGREDIENTS:

* 1 cup milk
* 1 cup half and half
* 8 tsp sugar
* 1 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
* 1 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
* 1 tbs brown sugar
* 1/2 tsp vanilla

PREPARATION:
Heat everything in a saucepan, except the vanilla, until chocolates melt and sugar dissolves. Pour half into a blender and mix until foamy. Return to the saucepan, and add vanilla. Stir briefly then serve.

Sounds like an experiment to me. Try heating 2 cups of milk on the stove and melt about 1/2 cup of chips in the milk. Maybe add 1/8 cup of sugar to sweeten it up. Just add more milk or chips to taste. Good luck.

Mexican Hot Chocolate:

Prep: 5 min., Cook: 10 min.

2 cups milk
4 ounces Mexican chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Whipped cream (optional)
Cinnamon sticks (optional)

Stir together 2 cups milk, chopped Mexican chocolate, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over low heat until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Cook, whisking constantly, just until mixture is thoroughly heated. Remove from heat, and whisk mixture until foamy. (An immersion blender also works well.) Pour evenly into 2 mugs; top with whipped cream, and add a cinnamon stick, if desired.

Yield: Makes 2 servings
