Why is it American Tourists never go anywhere else in Britain, they always go to london and then say they've had the "British experience", without going to other places in the UK?

I'd love to go to Wales. I'd love to go to Liverpool as well.
Many Americans don't really know where else to go in England partly because many of us don't know much about England, partly it's due to bad research on the part of the tourist, and some just genuinely want to see London!

There are plenty of American tourists that go to other parts of the country, go to York you will find some, go to Glasgow they will be there, you might even find one or two in Leeds (Lord knows why). But many Americans go to London and no where else because it is easy to get to. I could ask the same question about why do British, French, German ... tourists only come to New York or Washington, the answer is simple, they are the easiest to visit, and the cities that most non-Americans hear about.

That's rather a sweeping generalization. I've met Americans all over the UK, even walking up a mountain in the north west of Scotland.

But then how many Brits come to America and just see SF, LA, Orlando and New York? Not many British tourists make it to Bend, OR or Bellingham, WA.

Mostly people only see what the tour companies want to sell them.

London is classic and famed. The architecture is beautiful. So much history. I feel the same way about Scotland and Edinburgh. It's a destination city, a not-to-miss city. I had a great time in the UK.
