I am going camping this weekend, but where we are going this time has no showers. I hate it. How can I keep my hair smelling clean without having to wash it?
Anything easy to lug around would be great because we hike alot.

I dont feel sorry for myself GLH! I love camping! I hike, climb rocks, do all that fun stuff, I go with my husband and when I am near him I want to smell nice. I don't mind his rustic style, but I still want to be femmine. I'm not high maintence (far from it) Can you understand that???

A whole weekend without washing your hair - how will you ever survive?... poor baby
Your hair takes on the smells of the natural oils that your body secretes. If you eat sensible healthy food you will find that your hair doesn't smell bad but if you eat greasy junk then your hair will smell unpleasant.

you can get a dry shampoo form a beauty supply place (Sally's).it requires no water...if you can't get that then take a Ziploc bag of plain oatmeal with you..just put a little in your hands and rub it thru your hair focusing on the scalp..the oatmeal will absorb the excess oils and loosens any dirt that may be in the hair..when your done turn head upside down and shake vigorously to remove the oatmeal..brush any remaining out..then use a body spray to freshen up if you think you need it...

dry shampoo is awesome for that kind of thing.... what sucks about camping without washing your hair is your hair tends to smell like camp fire! not a lot you can do about that! but try braiding your hair really tight.... a french braid works well. when i was younger when my fam went camping... my sister used to put my hair in a ton of little braids... then it doesn't look and feel greasy, and you won't feel self conscious!

Take a pair of stockings,hair brush and baby powder.
Put the stocking on your brush and sprinkle a lil powder on it and brush your hair.This will dry out the oils in your hair but remember lightly you don't want the powder to show.

you can spray some watered down body spray in your hair to keep it smelling clean. if your hair was to get oily you can sprinkle some baby powder on your scalp, it will take away the oil.

try a small spray bottle filled with water and a few drops of leave in conditioner. or better still - let everyone else slum it in the tent and book into a hotel. sounds good to me!

sorry...but if your blk, then wash your hair before you leave and keep it wrapped...if your wht, then I heard putting powder in your hair will keep it from getting greasy....hope this helps!
