I read these boards and see you say how it is terrible to kill deer and other animals and how hunters should die for what they do.

If left unchecked, the deer will overpopulate areas, causing injury to humans, starvation amongst the deer population, spread diseases, and destroy farm crops. Hunting keeps the population in balance and provides uncontaminated food to many.

Look what corporate farming has done to the “normal” food supply in America. Is it more inhumane to shoot a free range deer that has a chance to evade a hunter or to raise a cow in a small pen shared with other cows, standing in its own filth, eating grains filled with hormones and antibiotics?

Hunting provides people with food and recreation. The money spent by hunters provides a boost to the economy. Licensing provides an income stream to state governments. Hunters spend money on land and habitat improvements to make areas better for wildlife to live.

What is wrong with the hunting concept?

Honey, you nailed it. There is nothing wrong with it. I personally think hunters have gotton a bad rep because of the booze hound idiots that tie the dead deer to the hood of the car like a buick ornament. Which i believe to be very disrespectful to such a beautiful creature. My sweetie hunts every weekend, and because of that I havnt bought ground beef in over 3 years. He doesnt go "killin" for sport. He does it for the meat. You are right. The population, unchecked would be devastating for the environment. People that are too damn sensitive, think its "cruel" and "mean". But these are the same people that enjoy a good veal steak without a second thought as to the misery they put that animal through and the hormones and antibiotics they are consuming. They probably wear fur coats too, and i wont get into how barbaric a practice that is. Not to mention, hunting is a wonderful recreation. It teaches patience, respect, safety, and a general appreciation for nature to young folks. SO no, there is nothing wrong with hunting. And dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

I know you weren't asking hunters but I think it comes down to this; People want to be superior. If you don't like hunting you can make yourself feel superior without making any sacrifices. You can eat meat and use leather but you can badmouth hunting by coming up with contrived differences. For instance killing an animal is wrong paying someone to kill an animal is not.
The other reason is the movie bambi

I agree with you. I have seen where people are killed on the highways from deer running in front of them. If the people make it the deer is usually killed. I have also seen such an over population problem that they go hungy. They need to be thinned out. They are beautiful and I don't want to be the one to hunt them but it is something that needs to be done.

Your well thought out discourse makes it impossible for the intellect-challenged anti-hunting crowd to make any argument against you. Keep spreading the truth!
