I'm Pagan and I believe they are very unsafe. I don't think there is any amount of protection you can call up to defend yourself from what you may encounter. Also, I have never once heard any success story from using a Ouija board. I have only ever heard about bad experiences from using them.

They are dangerous, based upon personal experience. I know that people say that Ouiji boards are just for fun, but if that's true, how do they predict the future.

Without going into personal details, I will tell you that I tried one at age 12 and it predicted the name of a person who would later be involved in my life. I did not meet this person until I was 21 years old. And it's because of recalling this information, I made changes in my life and got involved with this person. My life would have turned out very differently if I had stayed away from it.

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.

But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.

My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it's easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.

Don't be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists ... should not a people inquire of their God?" (Isaiah 8:19).

Heh - depends on your point of view, I suppose. A few years ago, I had a new girlfriend over, and we played with an Ouiji board. I manouvered the pointer such that it spelt out that she and I were going to get, shall we say, very very intimate. She made us breakfast the next morning...

Ouiji boards are an entertaining but entirely harmless way to spend an hour or two. And - the girl I mentioned? She's my wife...

NO.

If you want to do any kind of communing with the dead through a board, look for a psychic circle. They're harder to find, but better at keeping bad energies off the board and away from you.

How could they not be? They're a bit of plastic and cardboard with some printing on them. The whole thing is just a trick of the mind called ideomotor control.

Ouija boards merely reflect the unconscious movement of the users. They are just for fun and have no connection with the dead or evil spirits.
