I hope not. I never vote for Democrats so I haven´t participated to the problem.

I believe that illegal immigration would be low on the list of priorities if not for the terrorist.
We've been dealing with the immigration situation for decades so, why so important now? Ask any border patrol agent. Also, most Americans could care less about illegals, it's the politician and the minutemen that have made it an issue. As for the politician... They swing with the breeze. The minutemen are an extension of feelings that border land owners have. It's probably justified but is only a trespassing issue.
The fence is political and won't do anything except provide a hiding place for those illegals waiting to cross over. The drones... Definitely a bonus for the border patrol, they will help them do there job better.

Nothing of any major difference will be done between now and the presidential election in 2008.I don't feel that the Democrats won,but I do see why people voted against the Republicans. The war and all the other questionable illegal activities of the Republican party sealed their own doom in this midterm election. It wasn't so much a vote for the Democrats but a" lets vote all the incumbents out" vote against the Republican party.Nothing will get done for anyone of either persuasion, they will bask in the return of power for awhile, make more promises they wont keep and life will go on virtually unchanged. I do expect major changes in policy's after a new president is elected in 2008.I am neither elated or disappointed in the results.I voted along no party lines. My candidates were elected, the propositions I supported passed in my state of Arizona. So I am relatively pleased this morning.
And no I don't think anyone won in this election, but one party did lose. The illegal alien is still illegal today and he will be illegal tomorrow so life goes on the same ,doesn't it?

One of the reasons the Dems won was because the Republican-controlled Senate blew off any real immigration legislation and gave us a 700-mile fence that is unfunded. It offended the voters even the die-hard republicans.
In my opinion the illegals won when the Fence bill passed. Electing the Dems only means additional legislation has been pushed even further out. So they have already won prior to the election and scored another advantage on Tuesday. An expensive chain-link fence will be built eventually. However, the illegals will just go around it when it is done.

Both parties are letting us down about illegal immigration. Bush is probably the worst offender, wanting to allow unlimited immigration into this country so his billionaire buddies can have access to a vast pool of dirt cheap labor. Democrats seem to think this is some kind of race issue or human rights issue, when really what it is is an enormous economic disaster that is continuing to happen. Border states are being bankrupted by the cost of services they have to provide to people who aren't even citizens.
I was pleased to see that at least some of the Democratic candidates were also staunchly against illegal immigration. At least they know they need to pay lip service to it, which is more than Bush does. He wants to just grant them all amnesty and let our taxes pay for their upkeep while his corporate cronies make out like bandits.

It's not likely Democrats will sacrifice a position to earn the presidency by ticking off the American voter. I'm sorry, it's just not going to happen. Most Americans don't want it to, and they know this. Furthermore, do you realize how many conservative anti illegal democrats won in office? You have to put the correct candidate in the right state to win, surely you know this. An atheist lesbian is not going to take Alabama, for example. Iraq was 46% of the voters main concern, and the lives off our soldiers and the corruption of our government surely takes priority over illegal aliens who will never get an amnesty. No one will sacrifice a political career for your cause, and that is reality. Live in it awhile. BTW- I am a Democrat.

I think Americans think illegal immigration is an important issue, but not as important as others such as the war. A lot of people probably felt the Republicans were only saying they would crack down on illegal immigration because they were trying to win the election.

Regardless if the Democrats won or not. I think that illegal immigration will always be a problem in United States. I think alot of americans are concerned about illegal immigration, the focus was never taken away. But I also believe that America is tired of many innocent Americans dying in a senseless war. This war is going nowhere. Bush and his republican cronies have ruined this country. Lets see what the democrats can do.

Nope- I think most Americans care about illegal immigration, and most are against any kind of reform for them... but that's on both sides.. the Republicans and Democrats both want to make it easier for the illegal Immigrants that are already over here, to help them become legal.. so why would voting against the Democrats helped that.. the wall will still be built.. that won't change anything

I think there's plenty of democrats that aren't happy with the way the border's been handled, the House and Senate, controlled by republicans these last 5 years, played ping-pong with the issue for as long as they could, until citizens' groups finally started writing and calling in to their representatives, I don't care what party you're a member of, the border's a problem, and needs to get taken care of. Mexico, a separate country, has made it a cottage industry of figuring out how to maximize their use of our
policies, laws, public services, and so forth. I think the democrats will give a good show on this issue...and not just hide from it like the GOP tried to do...time will tell, though, time will tell.
