I ask because I am in a dilemma. To put it simple, My girlfriend and I are in a love which cannot be compared. To both of us it is important to wait until we are married to express our love, but it really is hard. We want to so much just share the intimacy whic comes with making love. And this is where the question comes in. I have a scientific background, so I can't accept the arguments 'I just know', but the thing is, 'I just know' that if we share this intimacy, she will fall pregnant. I'm not worried about this, i am actually looking forward to beginning our family together. I just know.

Do any of you believe in 'Just Knowing'?. Let me know your thoughts.

Of course, it's very possible to "Just Know" as you put it. But, what your experiencing is discernment's. Which is a gift, that comes from above. Be thankful for it and don't take what you feel and know likely. Listen to that small still voice, he is guiding you down the right path.

Making love is fine and healthy. You are correct in thinking that there is always a chance of pregnancy--I am a very critical thinker myself, and this is always a worry for me. However, if she is on birth control and you use a condom with spermicide, the chance of pregnancy is the conjoined twin of 0...not quite 0, but as close as you can get.

Although I find nothing wrong with being unmarried parents, especially if in a commited relationship, I would recommend getting married before starting your family. This is because people, especially your family members, will judge you severely. Also, if things don't work out for some reason, she can take away your child/children and you will have no legal claim to them to speak of.

Always use protection until you are ready to start a family.

I strongly agree with you. I "just know" if I have sex before I am married only one thing will come of it, and its not love, its a baby. not that having a baby is bad but i am only 17 and I really want to wait till I am married. It is so much worth it when you wait. I know you may think that you want it now and you cant wait but you can. waiting will only make it 10 times better!!

This is really sweet...and i think that sometimes we do know, but it's whats called a gut feeling or instinct that we feel is right....and when some thing feels right, you just know, your urge to express your love for each other physically may be hard, but if you wait when the time comes it will all be worth the wait.

Congrautlations on waiting!
With your scientific background you should know there is a small percentage of girls and guys that can't get pregnant. How about using a condom.if you decide not to wait. It would protect you from getting pregnant if you decide to have sex before you are married.

have the intimacy (if she is agreeable) and wear a condom Just know that if it is meant to be forever you can wait to have your family later when you have shared some life together. What does she think? Perhaps you should ask

Sometimes intuition can be very strong and if you believe in it, then so be it.

I think it is noble you both are wanting to wait.

As for my believing in "just knowing" - it truly depends on what it is. Getting pregnant, not so much.

Yes, I believe in just knowing... it's easier to understand about "just knowing" than you may realize.
"Just knowing" actually comes from the wisdom (knowledge, understanding, common sense, reasoning) that is instilled within the mind of the heart... it's called insight.
