At my wedding we used some groomsmen as ushers and then we had a few extras that weren't. I think it just depends on what you want. If you don't use your groomsmen then I think that's fine. It's your wedding so do it up the way you want to. Good luck!

Groomsmen do not need to be ushers. You can have separate for the ushers. Most weddings are up to the people getting married. everyone has different ideas how they want their wedding and that is ok. I have seen a lot of different weddings in my life. Groomsmens were the ushers in some and in others they were not. Again it is up to the bride and groom how they would like it. It is your day and it should be the way you want it.

That's pretty weird. People usually have groomsmen and EXTRA ushers, but use the groomsmen as ushers--they just get extra ushers as needed.
It's not necessarily bad, it may be normal in some places, but I've never seen that--and I've been to a lot of weddings.

The groomsmen and ushers were completely separate at my wedding. That was mostly because the ushers played such a large role...seating the guests, lighting the candles, pulling the aisle runner, etc. It was easier for the groomsmen to just stay with the groom and enter with him and the minister.
After all, it is your wedding. You can make it as traditional or uniquely yours as you want.

It's your wedding to do with as you wish. If you have many different people you want to include in your wedding then I don't see a problem with it. I went to a friends wedding who was a little league coach and he had some boys from the team be his ushers and then close friends or family be his groomsmen. That way everyone is involved and can participate.

They can be ushers if you would like but, I am going to have different people usher so no one will no how the wedding party is going to look. It gives you the chance to have those extra 2-4 people do something special. You know the people you could not fit into the wedding party. Have a Great Wedding Day!

The groomsmen at your wedding can be the ushers or you can have seperate. It wouldn't be bad either way. Now we are not having seperate ushers because we don't want to have to have more men spend $ renting tuxs. So we are just having our groomsmen usher to save some money.

This actually depends on what you want and if you know enough people. Traditionally it is supposed to be that you have ushers and groomsman different people but over the years they have used different people for a couple reasons:
1) don't know enough men to do this
2) we are having smaller weddings so you just use the same people.
It is really up to the bride groom and what you want!!! If this is what you want go for it, it is not going to look bad at all. To be honest, most people probably won't even notice it. Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I hope it all works out for you. I'm sure your wedding will be great!

I've never been to a wedding that had different ushers than groomsmen. I never heard any etiquette on it, though, either. Do what you want to do.
Congratulations on the wedding!

I have never seen groomsmen being used as ushers, but it really doesn't matter (unless you are having a national wedding that is being watched by the ettiquette police)
Do your wedding the way that you want it! Supposedly, you only get one chance at it, so do it the way that you will look back and smile on it.
Congrats on the wedding!
