It is human nature.

If you see one point as appealing and logical, you generally see the opposing point as *il*logical and *un*appealing.

Children are raised to believe that they must decide one way or the other. There is necessity in this since indecision can have terrible consequences.

The problem is not so much that people take sides, but that they are unwilling to listen to another point of view once they have chosen their side.

There are many times when a person chooses a side with misinformation or inadequate information. Too often once a person makes that choice they stick with it and use the information they have to support their choice even if the information is wrong. People do not want to appear stupid or wrong, so even if they make themselves look worse, they will support the side they have chosen.

Take care,
Troy

Too broad of a question. It would depend on the situation. For example, I couldn't care less who is the CEO of Hewlett Packard - but if I worked there, I might have an opinion. It depends if the issue is of importance.

One person cant possibly agree with everyone.
My question is, how do people determine religion by what they think is right? Like, I don't like this because they do that, or I dont like that so I wont go there. Will they ever be satisfied?

because there is an element which humans have that no one can be completely satisfied. if one has more than another the person with less complains and then if they receive more then the person who had more now complains because they are equal.
