Nice place to send cash. Does a great job on TV adds. Sends me the truth about politics.

They are the main organization for supporting "Uncommon Causes" such as which party needs extra money and such.

Dig deep enough and you will usually find the reason and purpose behind every organization. Most try to hide behind either charitable or patriotic names: like calling Jack-The-Ripper a benevolent Smiling Sam.

From their home page, they appear to be about as neutral as the DNC or the RNC. I see no benefit to membership.
