A couple of eggs, either hard-boiled or cooked in a non-stick pan with just a little bit of pan-spray-oil, and a glass of milk.

First, the eggs are primarily protein, which is used more readily by the body than the carbohydrates in breakfast cereal. Second, studies have shown that regular ingestion of moderate amounts of dairy helps the body to process food for weight loss.

By the way, a healthy breakfast without a good and healthy modification of other food habits will not have a good impact on weight control. If you have not done so already, consider cutting out all sugared sodas, candy and unnecessary "empty calories" of junk foods. A solid foundation in whole (i.e. unprocessed) fruits and vegetables, smart meat/protein choices, and a reduction of processed carbohydrates will assist you greatly in your endeavor.

I lost 20 lbs by eating all organic and all home foods. I cut out all fast foods. Almost all items not made by me were off limits. I was able to eat everything else. I did so with moderation in regards to butter, milk, sugar and no red meat. However, I ate everything else. Two examples would be lots of raw cheese and chocolate cake, fruit juice sweetened only. I got them at Whole Foods. Although, I mostly shope farmers markets. The produce is the freshest and cheapest! A plus is that you will be supporting local farmers.

An example breakfast would be oatmeal with cinnamon, vanilla, honey and almond milk or raw cows milk. I also made homemade pancakes with banana chunks, sunflower seeds or pine nuts, flax seeds and pure maple syrup. I used whole wheat flour all organic ingredients. My kids love'em.

I an not a nutritionist, but since I lost so much weight with really no difficulties, I thought I would pass along this information. I have since been reading a lot about nutrition and have changes the way my family eats. We use to get sick monthly and pass it from person to person. We are a family of 4 so we were mostly sick. My son missed 30 days of school in one year alone.

Since we have changed our eating, I have been only sick one day and it lasted for one day!

There was one interesting book to read. It is a cookbook and gives nutrition information as well. It is by Sally Fallon, "Nurturing Traditions.

Eating this way will be work for you, not her. She will be satisfied with what she can eat. However, you will be in the kitchen a lot more than most people.

Three ounces of orange juice, half a banana, one scrambled egg and half a slice of toast with margerine.

You can substitute half a cup of fresh sliced peaches for the banana, and put 'em in half a cup of non-sugar coated dry cereal and a third of a cup of milk over that and eliminate the scrambled egg.

Or you can have a cup of cooked oatmeal with half a cup of milk on it and a teaspoonful of Splenda to sweeten it, and have a three ounce serving of apple juice instead of the OJ.

Ya really wanna lose weight, combine the above with an hour of brisk walking every day. It'd be okay to break that up into two half-hour sessions, one in the morning before breakfast and one in the evening before dinner. And be sure y'don't pig out at other meals, especially on fast food!

Well, obviously nothing fat. If you know you have to lose weight, have cereal, bagel with cream because the body needs that sort of nutrition to start the day. After that for lunch have a salad or white meats. Stay away from red meats. Eat all the greens and fruits you want, and dont go to meijers and buy bulk candy. No chips or ice cream. Trust me. I am 20, and lost 130 pounds in 9 months. If you need other advice, I'll look for your questions.

First of all, do NOT eat raw eggs. Hello? Salmonella, anyone?

A protein shake first thing in the morning is a good breakfast. Use lowfat milk, two tablespoons of natural peanut butter (not the high-sugar brands), one tablespoon of nonfat vanilla yogurt, ice, and fruit (berries or bananas). It's a good source of protein, which will give you high energy, and keep you more full (i.e. less hungry) for a longer amount of time.
