One small onion chopped
3 cloves of crushed garlic
One can of crushed tomatoes
3 tbsp. of chopped flat-leaf parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 cup of vodka
1/2 sitck of unsalted butter
3/4 heavy cream
2 tblspn olive oil
salt and pepper
Heat oil in a skillet. Add the onion and garlic when it's hot and sautee until the onion begins to soften. Add the butter. When it's completely melted, add the tomatoes, basil and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the vodka and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until the alcohol smell evaporates. Stir in heavy cream and parsley.
You can also add chopped prosciutto or bacon to the onion and garlic before adding the tomatoes, etc.

Here is the recipe for pasta in vodka sauce, if you dont want the pasta then dont use it:
INGREDIENTS
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 pound thinly sliced prosciutto
3/4 cup vodka
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup half-and-half cream
1 pound penne pasta
DIRECTIONS
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion, celery, and garlic in oil; stir until soft. Add prosciutto and vodka. Simmer until almost all liquid is gone.
Add tomatoes, cayenne, and herbs. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir in half and half, and heat for 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook pasta in boiling salted water until done. Drain. Serve sauce over noodles.

This recipe goes with Spiced Shrimp Boil
2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup prepared horseradish
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons citrus-flavored vodka
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped lemon zest
2 1/4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Combine all ingredients; serve chilled.
Yield: Makes 2 1/2 cups
