I'm Japanese living in Japan.

Which Is correct, A or B ?

A : "Let's begin at chapter one."

B : "Let's begin with chapter one."

B hits about 20 by serch, but A has not found on the web.

Some Japanese believe that both of them are right.

I have NEVER heard anyone use "at" in this sense. You could say, "Let's begin at the beginning", but "Let's begin with chapter one" is how everyone says the other. Or you could say "Let's begin on page one." I'm not sure if "at" is grammatically correct in that sense, at chapter one, but it certainly is not used in that context.

They are both correct. The only difference is how "Chapter One" is being referred.

By saying AT chapter one, you are designating it as a location/place in the book.

By saying WITH chapter one, you are designating it as a portion/part of the book.

But both are acceptable.

I think B is better. Since chapter one is a thing and not a place then I would think you would begin WITH it instead of AT it.
