Absolutely, there's just dirt on the ground.
Now, a stair rail, a door knob, a phone, your computer's keyboard.....now that's where ALL the fun germs are. Enjoy!
You don't have to worry about where people's feet have been, feet are fairly clean. Now hands....hands are the biggest spreader of germs. You cough into them, you touch your oily face with them, you sneeze into them, you touch everything where others have touched......get the picture?

There is a chance that you could have picked up some organisms since the floor anywhere is always the most germ-laden. However, if it is your workplace, it's unlikely you will be affected because you have probably already build up immunity to the bugs in this environment. So ignore it, and make sure you always take a multivitamin and an extra vitamin C 500mg every day.

Don't worry about it.
Really.... don't worry about it.
People these days panic far too much about germs, and studies have shown that you are actually likely to be healthier if you've been exposed to more of them...
I mean... I've picked up food off the floor and eaten it loads of times. In fact I have even licked up food directly off the floor in a few rare cases. I know for a fact that I was ingesting loads of bacteria... but I also knew that those which didn't die in the hydrochloric acid of my stomach nor in the bile of my duodenum were sure to fight each other to the death for the privelage of living elsewhere in my system (and its usually the ones that are harmless to us that win).

Anything that touches the floor will pick up germs. For instance, ABC News did a study recently on women's handbags:
An excerpt:
"Gerba found about half a million bacteria on the bottom of one woman's large bag."

The germs were on it before it even touched the ground. I am sure you will survive tho. Of course if you decide you want to eat it or anything I would be sure to clean it first.

I think there's a chance of germ transfer in that case.

I heard on the radio yesterday that they had a single swab test from a womans purse which displayed over 6 million different bacteria forms.
The safest place would probably be the floor.
