You can now do it online, but you still have to leave enough time for the disc to be sent back to you.
If, like me, yours ran out on Tuesday 31 October, but you don't get paid until the last weekday of the month (ie. Tuesday 31 October), you still have to do it the "old-fashioned" way at the good old Post Office.

if its been of the road or if you have the old style mot you need to go to the post office if your tax is expiring and you have the new mot with the code on you can do it online and they will send it through the post

you should be sent a reminder letter through the post and then you can either go to your main post office with all your usual documentation or...be brave like i was and do it online...it is soooo much easier
