It means "we are going to disappear up our own ****" but don'tI think it was a french person who said this to you it seems more like the translation from the english about going in ever decreasing circles until...............

This doesn't sound like proper French. I reckon it's an English person who's translated "We're going to disappear up our own arses" into French word-for-word.
