I know it's healthy for a person to drink 8 glasses of water each day. Maybe it's a different amount, but it's something like that. I play soccer, run, lift, and do many other things each day, and I'm wondering...does the water you drink while you're exercising count towards the healthy amount each day?

Because if so, I drink plenty of water each day...but if not, then I might need to drink more...

Sure why not. You are putting the water in no matter what else is going on. However if you are sweating like a pig during sports activities and think you have sweated a lot of it out then just add more water. It is not rocket science.

The water that you drink during your exercise routine does count toward your daily amount. When you exercise you get dehydrated so you have to replace that fluid. Sounds like you are doing just fine to me.

It's 80 ounces, which is hard to do, but most of what we eat has water in it too.
The general rule is, if you're thirsty, you're dehydrating, you should have already been drinking water.

YOu do need more, because the exercise burns it off in sweat.
