On many levels.Peanut butter is very high in glutamine. That amino acid is needed for many different processes in your body outside being the most abundant amino acid in muscle tissue.
On the protein side, the protein in peanuts and peanut butter is not a complete protein. It lacks several of the ten essential amino acids.Peanut butter is high in fat,but most of these fats are very healthy when used in moderation. There are low levels of vitamin E as well but hardly enough to talk about.Just choose the brand carefully looking for lower saturated fat content and no trans fat.Smart Balance just came out with one but I haven't tried it yet. It's specifically formulated to have an ideal ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 for help in controlling LDL cholesterol.

I looked at 3 different types of peanut butter jif, skippy and natural. I tried to copy the nutrition labels here but you can look for yourself by clicking the links
http://www.dietfacts.com/html/items/11052.htm
http://www.dietfacts.com/html/items/38013.htm
right off the bat if you look at the ingredients between the 3 you see added ingredients for jif and skippy, but for the most jif pbs corn syrup solids is SECOND ingredient. Also sugar is added in the skippy so I would speculate what exactly is the sugar. More fat in the skippy 16g whereas jif has 12g skippy with 150g of sodium is 100g less than jif and regarding carbs skippy carries 7g and jif 15g each have added many vitamins/minerals to claim some nutrition When deciding a peanut butter I like to go with the natural because it is natural. You have peanuts its natural oils and then salt. If you drain off the top of the oil in the natural peanut butter you save yourself 6-7 grams of fat! every 2 tablespoon serving I would say stick to natural and if you are going to have a pb and j sandwhich whole wheat bread natural pb and some natural jam or jelly watch those added sugars, and pb is so high in the carbs and fats afterwards this is more for a meal or something after you work out! hope this all helps!

Yes - although probably too good for your own good!
It is "energy dense" - lots of calories, but not too bulky. Therefore peanut butter (also cheese, but not both) sandwiches are the food of choice for serious walkers.

It's usually VERY high in fat - but a good source of protein, and the peanuts fill you up so you're less likely to be hungry soon.
Swings and roundabouts really.

In small portions. It is a good source of protein and healthy fats. Try and buy the natural kind though - it has less partionally hydrogenated oils and sugar in it.

It is good for you and a great source of protein and usually good fats but everything in moderation. Two tablespoons is about equivalent to one serving of protein. If the fat content worries you, which it should, try all natural or light versions...stay away from trans and saturated fats.

It's very good for you (full of protein) but only if you can manage it in moderation! I struggle with that one because I love it and it's much more fun in copious volumes! Mashed up with banana on toast, or with chocolate spread! It's great in celery sticks too!
