Is it one person or is it just a thing that happens? but I would like to know why it happens and who or what it begins or starts with? Is it someone who is not clean in school?

I have answered this one at Yahoo several times so you may be able to search and read it somewhere.

Nothing starts head lice. They are a living creature that has it natural and normal home on us, humans. We are just another animal and some things are adapted to live on us as their host and food source. It sound yucky to us but Nature works that way, everything has a natural place to live that suits it perfectly, for head lice it is us!

Head lice spread because humans like being with other humans and we get together in groups a lot. If we come into direct head to head contact with someone who already has head lice they share it with us, just like catching a cold from them.

Cleanliness has nothing to do with catching head lice, anyone you pass in the street could have head lice regardless of their cleanliness.

What Causes Lice

Head Lice isn't a disease. Lice are small insects that feed on blood. They will lay their eggs (nits) along the hair shaft. When they hatch, the lice bugs will feed on the scalp. It almost looks like dandruff, but the nits look like little blobs stuck to the hair and they can't be flicked away. Dandruff on the other hand can easily be flicked or blown away.

You catch them from contact with a person that has them - or from touching an article of clothing or comb, brush, etc that the infected person uses on their hair. I have been told that you can also catch them from sitting on a cloth seat shortly after an infected person has sat on it (like at the movies). I don't know if that's true, but it seems logical.

Treatment is supposed to be difficult -- I guess the bugs are quite resistant to the chemicals used in treatments. It has nothing to do with how clean or dirty a person is. They're kind-of like mosquitos in that they will feed where ever they can get food.

My Mom always told me never, ever borrow someone else's hat, comb or brush. I tell my own kids the same thing now. Try not to hang your coat over another coat on a hook or chair.

Like any other insect, head lice are always in the environment. They are not selective, and seem to like living in short, long, clean and dirty hair. They cannot live in a cold environment, and only survive on the head of someone. Children are more prone to catching them, because they tend to get in closer proximity with each other, than adults.
As to 'which head' they originated from, and how long they've been around for, well that's another question.
There are loads of products offered on the Web to get rid of the nasty little things.

It has nothing to do with how clean or dirty someone is. Though if you are a clean person you may spot them or notice something isnt right sooner than a dirty person. They spread from person to person. They jump from head to head or clothing to clothing or clothing to head. They can not live long if they are not in a persons hair. Really someone always has lice. It doesnt just form or grow from your head or anything like that. Although lice can lay eggs in your hair and when they hatch.....Its a vicious cycle!!

Everybody gets head lice when they're in elementary school. It happens to everyone. Some kids play and sleep with their pets and start to spread it in shool.

Being dirty has nothing to do with it. It's simply being exposed to the bugs or their eggs.
