I didn't realise 'negative calorie' was a proper term. I stand corrected.

Try these:

Apples, Apparagus, Beets, Blueberries, Broccoli, Cabbage,
Celery, Cauliflower (yuk), Carrots, Cantaloupes, Cranberries.

Incidentally, a calorie is a unit of energy and is the amount required to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree Centigrade :-)

(additional)
If you were stranded on a desert island and walnuts were your only source of nurishment, and there was no nutcracker - I think the significant amount of expended energy trying to obtain food from the nuts would cause you to starve quicker than if you just lied there, worked on the tan and didn't eat at all!

This is only a theory. But I think it must be correct. A calorie is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one litre of water by one degree. So if you drink a litre of iced water, and it leaves the body at say 35 degrees, you will have "saved" 35 calories. Get drinking, kid, forget all that celery stuff!

Rabbits live of foods like lettuce and celery, so they must give you energy... Sugar free gum on the other hand has minimal calories so maybe if you chew it long enough?
