When a dearest person is about to die and if some body saves , then we treat him with human features ( face, eyes etc,) as god.
The one who gives you a lack of Rupees must be having crores of rupees. Like that the One who gave these wonderful organs to each and every being must be having the best features (best face, best eyes etc,) Where is the authority to say NO? If you say because you have not seen Him, you have not seen me also. Is it proper to say that I dont have face eyes etc? Then how can I answer your question? So perception is not an acceptable authority.

Many say "we are made in Gods image", but then contradict by saying "God is a spirit with no features". Doesn't make since to me. An easy explanation is that God has a body like you and me, just in a perfect form. If that's the case, then he most definitely has eyes ears nose and etc.

How can God make us in his own image if he is a spirit with distinct features? If God himself doesn't have a body them why do we have a body? Doesn't that make are bodies pointless? I don't know about you but God is all about making points, even small subtle ones.

In many religions, gods have been anthropomorphized. That is, given the appearance and qualities of humans. I personally don't believe "god" has any features at all. God just is.

The appearance of god is only based on the requirement that particular god ought to be, like Lord Hanuman, according to the ramayan, should have been good in jumping lengths, and so the Monkey avtar, Kaalima, according to the myth should have been a 'veer naari' and she had to have 4+4 hands fully equipped with tools to mend the evil... Lord Shiva had been bestowed with one more Eye and fire in it, as his job was to safegaurd the earth from the evil.....so on and so forth. As the time passed by, man gave appropriate faces and appearances to the God in the way he believed to be.

The ultimate goal of soul is to attain 'Mukthi' and the most basic religions in the world, hinduism, christianity and islam, preach their own ways to attain mukthi. Its left to the jurisprudence of the man to faithfully follow his most beloved and believed way to attain mukthi.

What do you think about those seperate sub-caste in christianity called Pentacostal Missons & Protestent Missions who belive that God has no shape? Do you think that they may not attain Mukthi at all? No .. they only believe in their own way of attaining mukthi. Do mail me on sowmya_deena@yahoo.co.in, there are some more aspects in hinduism which will make you believe that 'Vigraha Aradhana' is wrong, and some more which will make to belive that its right.

man cultivated a easy method of worshiping imaginary figure to the paramathma he believe in while worshiping him, instead of trying to concentrate himself in 'vacum' i.e Shoonya, which is very difficult.

Except the moulded or carved ones. Although God is said to see hear talk, He's a spirit and you cant really describe a spirit as having regular features.

Yes, I do!

I know the following scripture to be modern-day, direct revelation, through a prophet of a God who loves His children - us:

22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
