Hi!

I have a swelling on my lower back which I think is a boil. It's reddish with black-ish lining and just burst recently with pus. It also hurts when it's touched. I don't really want to seek medical attention yet since I would like to try self-curing techniques at home. Also, I have no idea what it is! Anyone help? ):

It may be just an infected hair. They sometimes will cause exactly what you describe. Sometimes the burst will flush it out and it will heal, but it may rise and burst several times before that happens. Have someone look at it very closely and see if they can find a hair, otherwise just let it do it's thing. If it continues to raise and burst you will need to see a doctor, but it shouldn't hurt anything to wait awhile and see what happens.

You are thinking small. The problems with infection is that you can make it much worse if you mistreat. See your doctor. It could be an ingrown hair or a splinter or an insect bite. You would treat these differently than a boil.

you should see a doctor it probably is a boil cyst in which the doctor will tell you to soak in a warm bath to help drain it never squeeze it however if it keeps reoccuring they will have to remove it just becareful cause it can become more painful.

yes it could be a boil ,or a in growing hair your best bet is bathe it in boric acid, or salt water is good, it will dry it out after you bathe it cover with a band aid so you don,t get infection from your clothes, bathe it twice a day but keep covered after.
