Have you taken her to a pediatric dentist? Maybe she grinds her teeth. If that is the case then her adult teeth will probably be affected as well. My little brother used to chew rocks (like they were apples!) when he was a baby and he wore down his front teeth just like you are describing. Once my parents figured that out and put a stop to the problem his teeth stayed the same and when his adult teeth came in they were fine--he's 25 now and doesn't even have any cavities!

Do you think she might be chewing on something when you're not looking?

Her new teeth will be just fine. These baby teeth just wore down because they are milk teeth and your daughter grinds her teeth then they get short like that. I've seen many cases like this and the baby teeth grow out just fine. Maybe no overbite or underbite, wait and see.

Hi Renae,

Take her to a dentist.

In other matters, you sent me an e-mail. When I tried to answer it I got

"Oops! Your email did not go through because the recipient\'s email address has not been confirmed. "

This is what I tried to send:

> where did you get your info from...

I got the birth year out of my head. I know 16-year old mothers and 45-year old mothers. I spend lots of time thinking about oddities.

I also subscribe to Ancestry.com. They have census images you can look at. I got those names from the 1930 census index. Your public library may subscribe to Heritage Quest, which also has census images. I pay $159.00 a year to Ancestry. It is cheaper than cable TV and lots more fun.

I can't - The 1940 census is not public yet, and he was born after 1930.

There is no one named Sally Covington in Tennessee in the 1930 index. She might be there under her maiden name, if she married after 1930. She might be in another state. She might have been missed; I only find 4 out of the 5 I look for.

Do you have her approximate birth year and maiden name? (If she married a cousin, and her maiden name was Covington, fine.)

has a search engine and 7 hits for "covington".

Write to me if you confirm your e-mail, or send me another address that works.
