Well it would help if your genetical makeup said that you would be slim. But other than that ??? Drink Water. Stay away from the sodas and coffee. Diet will play a big part of it. But the base of it is that you need to have exercise. There is no way that you can stay slim and not do anything. As you age your body will change. Your body will change and instead of being able to eat anything and still stay slim you are going to notice that you are growing in areas that you dont want.
Exercise does not mean that you have to go into a gym and workout. You just need to become active. IF you are married or have a significant other then go for a walk. THis is a good de-stresser. It allows you to have your own time. You dont have to walk fast and you dont have to walk far. Just get out and enjoy the time alone without distractions. As this becomes a norm you will be able to walk faster, farther, with a backpack / rucksack etc... You will be burning calories, increasing your cardiovascular and having quality time with your significant other. Do not think that exercise is a chore. Just become active and do things. Walking is the easiest from of exercise and it costs next to nothing to do.
Good Luck and have fun.

Healthy diet would be a start but seriously you need to do some excercise because its not all about being slim as it is about general health.

change what you eat whilst sitting at your desk during the day.
Take a walk at lunchtimes.
Lots of sex. Unless you regard that as exercise. Which would be a bit sad.

Eat nothing but healthy food. No fat or cholesterol, no sugar, only fat free or low fat/cholesterol food.
In short you don't exercise, you are not burning off excess calories, therefore you gain weight. If you don't want to exercise don't count on keeping slim.

Turn off the TV and exercise your mind AND body. Do yoga if you're lazy. Also, if you cycle to work you will keep off your weight...
