It really hasn't made a difference to me or any of my friends. Up here in New York, I've seen quite a few places with outdoor seating for smokers. I know in Ohio, a bar can allow smoking if 2/3 of their business is smoking related, so there are special smoking bars. You can still smoke outside and in your house, so most people just live with it.

I work in a bar and we just passed our smoking ban in July, It doesnt bother me now, now that I know what a huge difference it has made in the atmosphere. Business hasnt changed either, and we have a patio where you can smoke and drink. I did have a problem with it at first (was even on national news), I only really smoke when I go out and drink, its a social thing, but now it really doesnt bother me as much as I thought it would.

i live in ireland where the no smoking ban has been in for some time. i personnaly find it a huge improvement as u dont feel as groggy the mornin after a night out or smell so bad, all bars here have outdoor shelterd smoking areas here where u can still enjoy a drink and cigarette in a heated environment without having to listen to non smokers complain about the person smoking next to them

All a bunch of BS.
If the government is going to discriminate we smokers then they should allow something like every other bar or restaurant be a smoking bar or restaurant.

No smoking places are fine for non smokers. But places that allow smoking need to be left alone. I don't go to non smoking places and complain because I can't smoke...I just don't go there. Non smokers need to stay out of my business. Hopefully they'll make it illegal..them we can make big bucks (like Capone) bootlegging. Even open speakeasies for smokers.

Maybe you love to smoke, but you're forgetting the ones that can't stand the smell, don't want to get sick or has som respiratory problems like astma.
I think that it's good that they band smoking in public places, because smokers don't always pay attention to the rest of the non-smokers.

They enacted that ban here several months ago and most everyone enjoys the ban except the smokers (including me).

I respect your right to smoke outside or at home as long as you respect my right not to breathe your smoke indoors in a public place.
