I realy like this guy in my social studies class and i want him to ask me out. But the problem is that he is really shy but i can tell that he is interested. he stares @ me all the time and goes out of his way to talk to me and make me laugh. I don't want to be awkward and ask him directly but i like him alot. im new @ this whole dating thing so give some advice for beginners and serious people only! Also what do you say when someone asks you out? Thanks 4 your help!

Call me new age, but there is no harm in asking him if he'd like to grab coffee later or something. Fight for what you want:> You may be nervous when you do it, but then he must be more nervous if he can't even ask...
If someone asks you out (and you like them) say yes... as long as it suits you:)

Tnx goodness you're suggesting asking him directly. But contrary to your belief that this will be awkward, it's the best way since you've confirmed that he's also interested but for his shyness or rather, timidity. However, you may also consider another option of inviting him for a movie or musical show where you'll sit together and then go to a secluded area afterwards. The choice is yours. It's been a long time for me but if you feel a need to be indirect and want a direct result try asking for help - maybe with social studies.You don't want it to look phoney but want him to know you are interested in more than school. So try asking for help in class. Then if that goes well, ask him for help with class at home - your house or his house. If he accepts, you won't be studying, of course.

Well as a guy, I say that most guys want a girl to ask him out, it saves him the trouble, and it breaks the ice if the feeling is mutual. Ask someone he knows if he likes you and advance if he does

just ask more casually, like you would with any other friend but act more like your REALLY want to go out with him. on a date i mean. then u can take it from there.

Walk upto him, say HI and ask him if he'd like to go somewhere after school, college, university, etc...
