Hi Please give ur help!!! I have a huge mirror, like 8 ft. tall and 2 ft. wide, I LOVE IT!!! i have it in my room, and the only problem is, i got it at a yard sale and it was once a door, so now, the way i have it leaned up against the wall, u can see both sides of it, and the sides are so ugly, since it was a door, u can see the whole sides (both) are wood, but on one side, u can see the hinges "marks" where they once were, and on the other side, u can see where the door handle was, i thought of putting wall paper, but then i thought that would look tacky, so i thought of some kind of cloth or material, but i dont know how to get it to stay, without using nails, or staples, which would also look tacky................................ANY SUGGESTIONS??? thanks=)

Why not simply hang the thing up on a wall? If you love the door/mirror combo, have some large keyholes put in the back and hang it on a wall with some heavy duty bolts. Nails may not be strong enough to hold it...

Have you considered trimming it out with crown molding to make it appear to be a frame around the door? Some 1X material attached to the sides would cover everything you said you hate, AND make it easier to attach crown molding. That would effectively make the door into it's own framed piece.

LOVE garage sales! I just recovered 6 chairs that I recently bought!

I think it sounds kind of cool in it's "Rustic" state, but if you really don't like it, you can sand it and fill the holes, then paint it, or you can get industrial spray glue at a craft store to stick fabric (I think some kind of ultra-suede would be cool) to it.

Either that, or go with the "Door" theme - Go to an antique shop and buy a really cool glass doorknob to put on it and just install the door side of the hinges to it.

I would put it in a wall you want to place it in then go to home depot and buy some things to place it even to the wall. I forget what they are called sorry ! Then find some sea shells and hot glue them to your new mirror..

My wife took a large mirror, taped some lace around the edges, then painted over it. When she removed the lace, she had a really cute lace-bordered mirror.

you can sand it where the hinges were and put wood putty in the holes then paint it a nice color.
