The Vietnam Veterans Association picks up items like you want to donate. They are based in Washington, D.C. Check out their website. If they pick up in your area, you just call their 800 number to schedule a pickup and just leave the stuff out that morning with a note attached "VVA." They leave you a receipt for tax purposes if you want one also.
