I'm not a native English speaker, so please forgive any mistakes I might make. My life has been a mess, and I want to turn my life around. What I decided to do is treat others as I want to be treated. However, I'm unsuccessful in doing so when people show me no respect. Also, I sometime forget to do what I have to do, that is treat people nicely. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, I am Rational Spirituality,

The fact that people sometime show you no respect is a sign of a challenge, and a test by God. What would be the point if you were only behaving correctly when the going is easy?

Persevere every day, and you will be eventualy rewarded.

This is not to say that you should not defend yourself, or your rights. When injustice takes place against you, you have the right to defend yourself by any appropriate legal means, and in a polite appropriate manner that will not hurt third parties.

If you would like to learn the rules of purificaton and payback, read "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website. It explains why is it worth to persevere.

Good luck!

Continue to treat people as you want to be treated. The point is not how you are treated. You become a better person by your actions not others.

Keep being friendly and keep respecting people. They will eventually brake and start showing respect. This may take some time to do.

Get to know people more intimately...visit them at home....think of others and what they want and need and try to help them get it.
Always put yourself last...stop being selfish...when you are kind and generous to others especially widows and orphans you will reap large rewards in heaven.
