Of course! Great place if you need to furnish a whole house on a budget and are sick of Argos furniture falling apart. Ikea has quite good quality stuff for the price but the worst part is actually visiting the store. Still I hear that next year they will be selling stuff online so we can all enjoy buying matching lamps from the comfort of our homes :)

Ikea have been a success story for furniture and put the pressure on the old flat pack merchants like MFI and Wicks.

They just do it so well...not built to last though. They've thought through the whole buying experience and delivered a model which maximises their sales.

Ikea have perfected the art of making poor quality goods seem trendy. I went to their store in Bristol once and I had a hell of a job getting out.

Iv'e never been to Ikea. I don't like the thought of all my furniture falling to pieces when I sneeze! :-) My business is used furniture, house clearances. I, and hundreds more, have furnished our houses with quality furniture, in as new condition, at a fraction of new prices.

Yep... when i first moved near one, i was there allllllllll the time. You're right you see the same decor everywhere now. I've tried to avoid the place recently, although very very convenient when you're in a bind for that "one piece" that would pull a room together.

I'm a bit disappointed in their quality vs. price. Their designs are very clever, but the style doesn't fit middle-American tastes (yet, they're very successful, I do realize). Frankly, Value City does better for cheap, tasteful, if not clever, furniture. ("Blech," you say?) Ikea: style over value - not impressive.

Absolutely not. I never have, and never will. I keep getting their catalogues through my door, and i have to say it is some of the ugliest furniture I have ever seen Some of the accesories look Ok, but NOT worth a 50 mile drive.
