OK.. I have a 81 C10 standard cab. I want to install subs in the front of my bed and channel it through the back of my cab. I have a bench seat that I would like to keep but I am worried about muffling. Has any one found a way to keep the bench seat and keep the muffling to a minimum.

Well it can be done, but not well. my buddy did that with his 78 c-10 pickup, he got a ported subwoofer box. Cut holes through the back of the truck to the bed intalled some sort of pipe to connect the ports from the box and had that dump right into the truck cab. It worked but it took him a while to get it to work. It would be better to get 2-10" subs that fit into truck boxes. only go with one if you have to, the cab is so small you won't need much to start bumpin.

Not recommended! Unless you are doing some serious customizing of your vehicle. Just go with a good sub that works in a small sealed enclosure. Like Image Dynamics IQD V.2 10", awesome speaker, good price. Has a good balance of sound quality, SPL, and you can use them in very small enclosures. Always use atleast 3/4 " MDF, not particle board but Medium Density Fiberboard. It is quite heavy, doesnt flex much, and works very good for the pressures created by back side of the cone during transients.

Unless the bed of your truck is water proof, then it wouldn't be recommended. Any good enclosure wil be made of MDF and it's not waterproof. I suppose you could waterseal the enclosure and buy marine subwoofers...

However, the sound won't travel well to the cab. Think of it as listening to someone elses bass next to you.

Good sounding subs in a truck is a hard nut to crack, but not impossible.

Look around on the web for truck enclosures.

you cant put subs in your TRUCKBED and have them channeled into your cab as they are seperated. some things to look for are "kicker panels" and boxes designed for your truck. Kicker panels are small enclosures that you can put inside your vehicle. typically they will go on the floor, close to the door hindge.

In a single cab, due to lack of extra room, this is a tough one....but as said before, not impossible!
