All languages are difficult to learn, but if you're a native English speaker, you'll have problems learning the conjugations of the verbs and the verb tenses that don't exist in English (although, of course, there is a way to say the same thing) like subjunctive.
Time and patience, travel, speaking with native Spanish speakers and not being afraid to mistakes should help. Reading things you like to read in Spanish will help build up your vocabulary, too. Spanish pronunciation is also difficult for Americans (more than British) because none of the pure vowels are exactly the same.

In my opinion Spanish is not that hard of a language. If you think it is wicked imagine Turkish or Mandarin. The absolutely best way to learn is to live in the country that speaks the language. If you can't do that at least spend a lot of time there. You have to practice with natives. This is the only way you will start to really pick up the way things are said. For fluency you have to cross the line into actually thinking in Spanish and that will take awhile. Just keep practicing and never be afraid to use it.

Spanish isn't really a hard language, and if you're like me and currently living in a spanish-speaking country, you can pick it up really, really quickly. I've only lived in Mexico City a year and I can basically understand everything everyone is saying, but I'm still learning.
If you want to become fluent and are unable to move to a new country, try learning a word a day, or get a computer program like Rosetta Stone or Berlitz, since those are some of the best.

Well, it took me 58 years. Even today I am still learning. But Spanish is not hard to learn. The best and ONLY way to learn it is STUDY, STUDY, STUDY. If you thought that learning a language would be like ordering a pizza, I must say that it is not.
If you want to be at the level where you can talk fluently, STUDY and PRACTICE, STUDY and PRACTICE, STUDY and Practice. How long it will take depends on YOU.
But I must congratulate for your interest to learn. That is the first step. The Chinese say that even the longest trip begins with a single step. Keep at it

Spanish is easy to learn, u need to start with the basics, like if u were in preschool. Learn the sounds of the Alphabet.
Spanish language has additional letters and prenounciations like
(ch ll ñ rr) Also when ever u refer to a female, words will end in A and when u refer to a male, words end in O. To know the exact prenounciation of the language u most definetely need a native of the language, otherwise you will sound like u are talking with your mounth full.
