When I forget to take my once daily Allegra 180 for hay fever, tree pollen, nasal drainage, in spring and fall of each year..... Sometimes I forget to take Allegra and if I do sometimes I get feelings of choking/strangulation at the back of my throat.

This does not seem to be related to stress..... Is it a symptom of allergies ?

yes, it is your throat swelling. Always keep Benadryll and Allegra on hand with you, if you get this sensation take the benadryll (make sure it's liquid) and if you didn't take your allegra, wait about 4 hours after taking benadryll and take your allegra.

Yes, a feeling of your throat closing up is a sign of allergies...it is inflammation due to the histamine response that Allegra prevents

Let you doctor know about it, but if Allegra stops the sensation then he will probably just tell you to make sure you take your medicine during those times.

I had this before in the Spring and Fall seasons, I had asthma though with the symptom. Just make sure that you are not wheezing too...i.e. having difficulty breathing. If you are then your doctor would need to prescribe other medicines for the allergic asthma.

Is a dangerous symtom of allergies. Do not forget to take your allegra. Talk to your doctor about this symptom in particular. He/she may want to give you an epinepherine shot for self injection. Could be serious, dont ignore it. If this happens and does not go away, take benedryl and head to the ER.

it must be some form of organic and organic situation that restricts your respiratory or impacts your throat in some way. i prefer to propose going to the wellness care professional and telling them what your feeling perhaps they're going to diagnose something.

it could be frustration at your own inability to remember something as simple as taking your meds.
in other words, stress.
