buick and pontiac right now are the best pre-owned deals great cars but style is lacking. If you want imports hyundai builds a respectable car now but due to reputation they have bad resale value so you can pick one up cheap. Oh and jay is still leaning on hondas reputation he should really check new stats several cars are ahead of honda in initial quality now and honda prices keep going up and bmw is terrible with quality issues and maintenance costs. Do research do not just go from what somebody says

Foreign cars do have a little better resale but the problem here is not resale value on the Malibu it is the dealer you traded it in at.You got screwed. They screwed you out of almost 5 grand.Do your homework next time and if your going to buy another Toyota switch to another dealership because it sounds like you dealt with a bunch of crooks.

From what i read i believe a Oldsmobile might be your best bet. I have seen those Oldsmobile drop in the resale value, but over all there are pretty good cars. And they look good too. Also check the Buick Line.

you said "not based on price" that kind of contradicts your question. Resale value and quality go hand and hand. Honda is the best non luxury car for price and reliability. and bmw for luxury.
