A the maid, she opened the mail, seeing he was looking for a new maid to replace her and thought she would kill him and steal the cash from the safe (which she knows the number to since she seen him open it) and piss off, she knows she is getting paid off,after all her hard service!!!

I would say it was the gun-keeper at the shop!
The maid checking the mail sounds too dumb to commit murder...
The butcher at the 24 hour shop wouldnt have time to go out and kill him...becasue he's open 24 hours!
The gunkeeper could kill the man from a distance and without making too much noise (by using a silencer)

I saw this one on Gilligan's Island. The answer is "C" The gun-keeper. The man that was shot was the gun keeper at the shop, a gun fell over & fired...killed the man, who was also the gun-keeper.
