Between a beagle and a dalmatian-which would you pick?

Dalmatian! I have always had dalmatians, and I think they are great, super lovable dogs. It just depends on how active a dog you want. Dalmatians are pretty hyper dogs and need a lot of exercise and attention. (my 9yr old dalmatians still tear around the house like they're puppies) As for dalmatians being nasty- all dogs can be nasty if taught to be. Dalmatians are very strong willed dogs though, and they need someone to take control and be the boss, otherwise they will be. But, on the whole, dalmatians are a fun,sweet dog to own, and are never boring.
ps-the neigbors have a beagle and yes, they do have kind of a horse, funny sounding bark. also, the beagle is certainly a lot mellower than my dals, but I wouldn't change my babies for the world

My self i would pick the beagle because they don't get very big and you can keep them in the house but you can keep a dalmatian in the house to but i really like small dogs.

Like with any pet, it really would depend on what your lifestyle is like. Beagles need a lot of exercise as they are prone to weight gain. Dalmations can be very shy and need a LOT of socialization.
If it were me, I'd probably go with the beagle, mainly because it is a little bit smaller of a dog. It would be a tough choice though!

Yeah..I will second the NEITHER!!!!
I have never met a Dalmation I liked and Beagles are not the greatest pets either. Howling,digging,running,barking!!!
Dalmations can just be nasty.

Beagle less likely to bite you or your children. But an annoying howl and usually needy and nosey.

I would go with a beagle because it is smaller and I think that it has better colors but they have a howly bark.

i have a beagle. she's very sweet. she pretty much just sleeps all day, sniffs around (they're bred to be hunting dogs so they chase squirrels and rabbits and there's no stopping them.) and snacks. she loves food, that's for sure.
i've heard dalmations are kind of b*tchy. they're bigger, and i personally didn't want a big dog.
